Hello. My name is Mariah Garcia I am a student here at TXST. My major is Digital Media Innovations with a minor in Sports Media. I am originally a transfer student from Austin Community College making it already a full year already being at TXST. Currently into my junior year I am very excited about diving into my advanced major classes in learning those new skills and to be able to get out of my comfort zone. So far being here at TXST I have gained so much confidence on building more on my craft.
My main key interest are videogrpahy, editing, sports, and media as a whole. Outside of the classroom I enjoy watching films my main interest has always been cinemetogrphy and film. Even though Im still a beginner on most aspects of videogrpahy and editing I definetly want develop and evolve that skill toward a career. For sports I am a big basketball fan I love the atmosphere and the environment when watching the games. In addition, one my guilty pleasures is being on my phone too much and consuming everything the media puts out online. I love taking a deeper dive into the media world mostly on its effects of how it makes us behave online.
As for future aspirations my main goal after college is to simply have a career in what Im studying right now. In this current chapter of my life having a good work life balance is a big important thing for me especially now more than ever I will be starting my family very soon. Having a career that brings me joy and that allows me to balance being a parent is the biggest goal for me to achieve.
